Developers can now showcase promotions and their latest YouTube videos directly within the listings, making them more visible to users browsing the Games tab. Additionally, Google is introducing AI-powered FAQs in English, providing players with quick and accurate answers to common questions about the game.
Rewarding Experiences with Play Pass and Play Points
To encourage in-app purchases, Google is allowing developers to offer exclusive discounts to users subscribed to the Play Pass service. This move aims to incentivize players to explore and engage with a wider range of games. Furthermore, the Play Pass subscription will be launching in Korea later this year, expanding its reach to a new market.
Google’s Play Points rewards program, which has amassed over 220 million members across 35 markets, is also receiving an upgrade. To further support developers in driving purchases, Google is providing tools to track app uninstalls through a default uninstaller list. This data can help developers identify and target specific user groups, such as lapsed payers, users who have never made a purchase, or players who have not received push notifications in the past week.
Embracing Native PC Gaming
Google’s Play Games for PC program, which allows users to play Android games on their computers, has expanded to over 120 countries. Building on this success, Google is now enabling publishers to offer native PC games directly on the Play Store. Popular titles like “Lineage2M,” “Odin: Valhalla Rising,” “Genshin Impact,” and “Dragonheir: Silent Gods” are already available, with “Solo Leveling: Arise” set to launch later this year.
